Known as the ‘Queen of the Classics’, or ‘The Hell of the North’, this race has been in existence since 1896.  Riders battle it out over a tough course which distances nearly 260kms, and with more than 50kms of pavé (cobbles) to negotiate it is the strongest man who crosses the line first.

This is road racing at its most attritional.

Now you too can take on this course.  Whether you choose the short or medium 'taster routes', or the long route, which most closely follows the pro route, you don’t easily forget the experience of riding on sections of ‘road’ that in parts can seem to be nothing more than a collection of randomly distributed bricks.  But, what a thrill!  And it only serves to make the pros seem even more incredible as they power past you at race pace.

On this Pro Race weekend trip we take care of getting you there and back from London, provide transfers to and from the sportive event (TBC by organisers), and then get you roadside to see the best of the action on race day.

Red Lantern Cycling Arenberg Pavé - Paris Roubaix Pro Race Weekend, Paris Roubaix Challenge (June)

Itinerary at a glance:

Friday - We leave from London in the early afternoon for our base in the St. Quentin area.  Arrival at the hotel will be late afternoon/early evening, in time for dinner and a once-over of your bike in preparation for the ride tomorrow.

Saturday - Two pairs of mitts.  Tick!  Double bar tape.  Tick!  Then let’s go and ride some pavé!  Details of the 2016 sportive are yet to be announced but it's sure to be a route to test.  Transfers to the event start and from the finish are provided, so you can save your energies for what will be a challenging day in the saddle.

Sunday - Today is all about the pro race.  After check-out we head off to Compiegne to see the start of the race, and then - traffic and time dependent - transfer you to at least two cobbled sections along the route, before we head to Roubaix for the race finalé.  On conclusion of the race we depart for London, aiming for arrival by 22:00.
