Tour of Flanders Spring Classics Pro Race Weekend:
Sorry, no availability for 2019
Who said there were no hills in Belgium? The Ronde van Vlaanderen, a.k.a. the Tour of Flanders, will certainly disprove that. This weekend trip provides the opportunity to be roadside at the most important cycling race in Belgium, and one of professional road cycling’s ‘monuments’, having ridden on the same roads yourself the day before.
The region of Flanders is steeped in cycling history and populated by passionate and knowledgeable cycling fans. Over the weekend you’ll encounter cobbles, climbs, ever-changing weather conditions, flying water bottles and thousands of people lining the roads up the famous bergs to cheer on cyclists, including you. And then, there are all those post-ride refreshments...
Riders travelling with Red Lantern Cycling can choose from three routes: The 227kms route - for those who really like to push themselves, the 129kms route - cutting out most of the long, flat, wind-blasted stretches of the longer distance, but still enabling you to tackle all of the 15 climbs*; and the 71kms route - giving you a taste of the Tour of Flanders, taking in 9 of the climbs*. If you are unsure about which route is most suited to you then please Contact Us.
*This is based on the 2016 sportive - we will update the route details once these have been confirmed by the event organisers.
Itinerary at a glance:
Friday - We leave from London in the morning, stopping off to pre-register for Saturday’s ride before heading to the hotel. If there’s time you can get out on your bike to stretch your legs and get a little taste of what’s to come the following day.
Saturday - Time to ride! We transfer you to the start of the sportive to take your place among up to 16,000 other cyclists, who like you are riding the Ronde van Vlaanderen. After you’re finished we’ll provide the refreshments for the transfer back to the hotel, where you’ll have time to get cleaned up and catch your breath before swapping stories over dinner.
Sunday - Let's go and see how the pros do it. We'll transfer you to Bruges for the start of the race, and then afterwards head to either the Oude Kwaaremont or Paterberg where you can enjoy the atmosphere, and watch the action on the big screens until the pros come past. On conclusion of the race we depart for London, aiming for arrival by 22:00.
